I'm a health coach with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
My love for smoothies came out of personal necessity. I was working full-time as a Senior Event Manager and trying to juggle working nights and weekends along with a personal life. I was skipping meals, inactive, stressed, and felt completely exhausted the majority of the time. I was pumping my body with caffeine and sweets to get through the day, when I finally hit a brick wall.
Something had to change.
I wanted to be one of those people that craved healthy food—someone that finds joy in cooking. I wanted to show myself I’m just as important as the job, the partner, the friends, the family, and even the pets…
I am worth it!
But counting calories and measuring my food sounded like an extra to do. I drew on my yoga background to figure out a mindful and sustainable plan. I thought, “Keep it simple, Emilie.”
I added one green smoothie into my regular day and meal plan for two weeks. Since breakfast was my biggest struggle, I swapped out my organic pop-tart habit for a vibrant green smoothie.
My body responded immediately! Within three days the change was noticeable.
